58. Assistant Manager- The Best Days
Hello, all you lovely people at CFC/FOM. On Friday afternoons we could all do with some fun, so here is a lovely tale from Manjit Singh to set the ball rolling!
“I received an invitation on an embossed card for a party in Nyamakad Bungalow which stated that ‘pyjamas /night suits were dress de rigueur’. I went and checked in the Oxford dictionary and ‘de rigueur’ meant order of the day. I had never attended a pyjama party before and was not totally convinced…”
Oh, for those days of innocence and leisure. They’re not coming back, but you can take a little joyride thanks to Manjit and his reminiscences. Give me a minute to get my cup of tea before we set off to revisit ‘the best days’.
Cheers to wonderful people who share their stories from the world of Indian tea! I’ll be back with one more story next Friday. Yeh vaada raha!

Indian Chai Stories
This segment is a result of our fruitful collaboration with Indian Chai Stories, a blog by Gowri Mohanakrishnan, a planter’s wife who’s been writing tea stories for many years and is also an active supporter of Chai for Cancer
Her stories come straight from the tea gardens of India and are best enjoyed with a cup of garam chai.
