57. A jumbo ‘earthquake,’ from the eyes of a nine-year-old
Hello, all you lovely people at CFC/FOM.
There’s a lot of excitement in the air with the new CFC adda season coming up! Now in the tea gardens, excitement meant elephants most of the time! We rarely had a dull moment, and believe me, life sometimes got too thrilling, and I would pray for boring days!
Sudipta Bhattachrjee recounts some exciting moments from her childhood visits to her uncle and aunt in the tea gardens. “To a nine-year-old from the bustling city of Calcutta, the flight to Guwahati and the long but smooth drive through scenic countryside to the sylvan foothills was nothing short of a magical journey.” Sudipta weaves a little bit of magic into this story to go with our kadak chai!
Enjoy your read, dear friends! Cheers! I will be back next Friday with more stories for everyone – yeh vaada raha!
Love and best wishes, Gowri

Indian Chai Stories
This segment is a result of our fruitful collaboration with Indian Chai Stories, a blog by Gowri Mohanakrishnan, a planter’s wife who’s been writing tea stories for many years and is also an active supporter of Chai for Cancer
Her stories come straight from the tea gardens of India and are best enjoyed with a cup of garam chai.
