Chai for Cancer Season 3 on Radio One 94.3
Radio One’s ‘Prince of Talk-Shows’, HrishiKay, spent an hour with Viji Venkatesh at his studios on 27 April 2016. In a wide-ranging exchange of views they covered several aspects of the crusade: the emotional connect between chai and cancer, how making it less feared and bringing it ‘home’ (parks, gardens, hospitals, friends’ places) was a way of approaching it like any other disease; the friends (e.g. Shalini Mehta, Alakta Kar, Anju Kadam and Ally Mathan of the 100 Saree Pact, Film makers Geeta and Avinash Singh) and celebrities like Salman Khan who have made the journey easier; the heavyweight corporates (Novartis, Radio One, Society Tea) who have been the proverbial pillars of strength and most of all, the trusting public all over India who have supported the fund-raising drive (Chai for Cancer Addas) for three years.
