Friends of Max’s City Chapter Leaders hosted their first Chai for Cancer Adda of 2022 on 22nd May. Since the inception of CFC in 2014, the enthusiastic FOM Delhi group has hosted an Adda every year. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, they made it a point to host a Virtual Adda.
As is tradition, this year’s Adda was hosted at the Lodhi Gardens under the summer sun. The FOM Delhi Volunteers, joined by Indian Chai Stories’ Gowri Mohanakrishnan, arrived in the morning and helped set up the CFC stall under the shade of a tall tree. Very soon we started getting visitors – morning walkers with their dogs, youngsters and patrons of Chai for Cancer who had attended an Adda in the previous years and rushed to our stall when they recognised Viji Venkatesh.
Our Radio Partners Red FM were present on the ground with RJ Misha covering the Adda. Also joining us was Nisha Narayanan, their CEO, who addressed the crowd present there on the powerful role of radio in shaping public opinion and why the radio station continues to support Chai for Cancer strongly over the years!
The kind people of Delhi visited our stall till 10 AM, talking to our City Chapter Leaders, sharing their own stories, learning about The Max Foundation and Friends of Max’s work with cancer patients in India and donating generously towards our cause. Nothing less could be expected from “Dil waalo ki Dilli”.
