International Tea Day Adda, May 21st 2024
Chai for Cancer celebrated International Tea Day (May 21, 2024) with a Chai for Cancer Adda hosted by Viji Venkatesh.
Chai for Cancer began with the idea of juxtaposing the warmth, comfort and sense of community that we associate with a steaming cup of chai with the feelings of fear, isolation and stigma that often comes with cancer. This led to the creation of the Chai for Cancer campaign, an awareness and fundraising tool for supporting patients living with cancer.
So, it was only fitting that Chai for Cancer hosts an Adda on International Tea Day, right?
Viji Venkatesh, hosted an Adda at the Taj Mahal Tea House on May 2, for all who could not come to her home for the launch Adda of Season 11, and also for the many generous hearts who did but wanted to raise one more cup anyway.
Like it happens in so many Addas, friends came together and amidst much singing, laughter and good cheer, there were also some serious cancer conversations around early detection and prevention.
A big Thank You to all who raised that cup to bring #hopeanddignity to our patients.
