On Sunday, 16th November the almost annual Chai for Cancer Adda held at the iconic Victoria Memorial came alive once again, as we raised our collective voice for patients living with cancer and their families.

From 6:30 am onwards, in a truly magical morning setting, morning walkers, young roller skaters with their trainers and parents, Friends of Max City Chapter Leaders, members from The Max Foundation India team, and our ever-energetic partners from Red FM RJ Anup Anyaman Majumdar RJ Neil – Red FM every one of you made this Adda special.

Thank you for showing up, for giving, for caring, and for owning the cause.

The Cup of Hope stands tall only because you stand with us.

We extend our immense gratitude and appreciation to Dr Reena Nair and Tata Medical Center, Kolkata who, like every year this year too hosted the Chai for Cancer Adda at the hospital reception foyer.

The special Adda which was held on Thursday, November 23, 2023 saw physicians, hospital staff and technicians, patients and caregivers all gather together with Friends of Max volunteers and City Chapter Leaders and The Max Foundation team.

Amidst smiles, hugs, laughter, information gathering, sharing and learning the gathering also helped to raise generous contributions from kind hearts. The Chai for Cancer team remains grateful to all who attended and contributed so warmly. Your contributions will go a long way in helping us provide support to so many more CML and GIST patients who are on lifelong treatment.

At the Adda in full attendance were the enthusiastic group of Friends of Max volunteers led by Neel Kankani, Cedric Mathew, Koushik Koley, Amal Da, Subir Sen, and Samiran Sen. Also present was Red FM Kolkata, our Radio partners represented by RJ Malika Basu and RJ Abhishek to provide coverage and amplify our voice.

The Chai for Cancer Adda at the Tata Medical Center in Kolkata was all that it was meant to be. The Max and Friends of Max team were all set by 3 pm in the afternoon and once the host Dr Reena Nair had herself bought the first cup of Chai it was all about patients, their families, doctors and technicians and hospital staff all spending their afternoon Chai hour at the Adda. Animated discussions  old friends sharing news and views, volunteers in enthusiastic engagement with one another and of course purse strings loosened to support the cause  And of course the Chai for Cancer Tees selling like hot cakes.
