Celebrating the Annual Chai for Cancer Adda at Mini and Pramod George’s home in Kalyan. A tradition which has grown more meaningful with each passing year. On Sunday, 16 Aug they once again welcomed their family, friends, neighbors, colleagues from the world of print media, schoolmates and even their children’s friends.

A steady stream of guests came in between 4pm to 8pm, filling the room with their warmth, laughter, camaraderie and above all, an open spirit of generosity. One by one, they raised their cups of chai in support of the cause, a cherished and much looked forward to ritual to many by now.

This, all thanks to Pramod the ever passionate Cancer Advocate and FOM Trustee and himself a firm believer in the spirit of ‘giving’. He never tires of sharing the genesis & idea behind the Chai for Cancer campaign, what it supports and the difference it has made and continues to make to patients and families living with cancer.

Joining him is his wife, Mini, who warmly welcomes each guest with a cup of chai and an assortment of tasty snacks. Then there is Sharon, Pramod and Mini’s niece, who takes her place at the donation counter, patiently handing out receipts and a copy of Chai for Cancer leaflet. Once she settles in, she barely moves from her spot, except for joining in the group photographs!

Highlight of the Adda was nine-year old Siri, a cancer survivor who travelled all the way from Panvel with her mother. Every once in a while, you meet someone who truly inspires and reminds you that even though much has been achieved, so much more needs to be done with her warm smile, intelligence and spirit, Siri certainly made our evening.

Thank you Pramod, Mini, Sharon for your earnest support and belief!
