66. When Winter Comes Calling
Hello to all you lovely people at CFC/FOM! Had enough of the monsoon, everyone? Waterlogging, sticky weather, and the back-to-school grind making you long for another vacation in cooler climes? Want to fast forward yourself into winter?
Hop aboard, my friends. You don’t have to fill out a leave application, and there’s no need to circulate those ‘out of office’ notifications. Rajesh Thomas is here to take us all to the Upper Nilgiris, his beloved highlands. He tells us, ‘A handful of estates with their tea fields situated between 7500 feet and 8100 feet above sea level in this part of Upper Nilgiris …produce some of India’s finest high grown teas.’
Pick up a cup of your favourite brew before we begin. Thank you, Rajesh, for transporting us to your world again.
Cheers, dear readers. I’ll be back again next Friday with another teatime tour for you. Yeh vaada raha!

Indian Chai Stories
This segment is a result of our fruitful collaboration with Indian Chai Stories, a blog by Gowri Mohanakrishnan, a planter’s wife who’s been writing tea stories for many years and is also an active supporter of Chai for Cancer
Her stories come straight from the tea gardens of India and are best enjoyed with a cup of garam chai.
